We have decided to move Shadow to South Brittany and have started the journey South. We left or berth in Haslar for the last time on Saturday 30th April and headed for Island Harbour near Cowes on the Isle of Wight for a Moody Owners Association rally.
Saturday morning started cold with blue skies as we left Portsmouth. There was little wind at first but it picked up enough for us to sail most of the way to Cowes. We were making abour 4.5 knots through the water, but 2.5 knots of that was the fair tide.
We arrived at Island Harbour in time for a quick lunch before the annual boules competition ... we were knocked out in the first round.
It remained sunny on Saturday for the Pontoon Party, although a little chilly. We then had a decent meal in he Breeze restaurant. After that a few friends came back to our boat for a nightcap.
Sunday was wet and drizzly. I spent a good part of the day doing toilet maintenance, I'll spre the details. The rain eased off enough for us to hold a BBQ, then cheese and wine on Libra of Lorne our friends' boat.
We plan to cross the channel to Alderney later in the week. The wind looks best on Wednesday so we decided to stay at Island Harbour the Bank Holiday Monday. We saw all the Moody Rally boats off, leaving Shadow all alone in Island Harbour.

Sebby and Moonshadow were first to exit through the lock.
