The end of our Summer Cruise

Neil O'Connor

We left Alderney on Wednesday 4th August to sail back home. Again it was light winds and we ended up motor sailing across the channel past the Needles to anchor in Newtown Creek on the Isle of Wight at 1945. Strong winds were forecast for the following afternoon so we weighed anchor at 0700 sailing in a SW 4-5 to get into our home berth in Haslar marina at 1030.

Over the trip we travelled a distance of 694 NM with 62 nights on board: 9 at anchor, 22 on moorings, 16 on pontoons and 15 in marinas.
