Looking towards Ile Tudy
We left Sainte Evette at eight and initially had a great sail towards Loctudy. Not fast but a steady five knots. We were crossing the Audierne Bay towards Pointe de Penmarc'h when there was a lot of movement over to our right. Dolphins were rounding up fish with gannets diving in the middle. It wasn't long before we had dolphins playing about our boat riding on the bow and even jumping out of the water. Elaine and I sat up on the bow watching them whilst the autopilot steered the boat.
AS we approached the Pointe de Penmarc'h the wind dropped and we had to motor. Rounding this headland we were now on the South Coast of Brittany with the promise of more warmth.
We went into Loctudy, arriving at 1400. We really like Loctudy. A friendly marina with good facilities, a fishing port and a small seaside resort. We had planned to visit Ile Tudy which is supposed to be a picturesque Breton village on the Sunday, but the passenger ferry doesn't go on Sunday.

Loctudy is also known for its checkered tower light called Perdix.

We saw a French Moody 35 on one of the visitors' berths and got talking to the owner Jean-Marc. He's a lovely guy and was kind enough to give us a lift to the Supermarket in Pont L'Abbe so we could stock up for the next few days.
