And so to the Yealm

The River Yealm

We left Salcombe on Sunday 16th. A leisurely late morning start on a beautiful day.

The forecast Northerly Winds turned out to be Easterly, so we sailed with the Genoa poled out at a gentle 3 knots through the water. We had the mackerel line out but no luck.

A Gentle Downwind Sail

By four o'clock we were in The Yealm rafted on a buoy to another Moody Margaret Ann.

On the Monday we went for a walk around the Yealm Head with stunning views and back to Noss Mayo. It was low tide so we crossed the two vosses (a voss is a causeway useable at low tide) to do some shopping in the Co-op and get a drink at the Dolphin pub before walking back to our dinghy and motoring back to Shadow.
