Alderney to Guernsey

Neil O'Connor

After a night in Alderney we set sail for Alderney. We left at midday to catch the tide down the Swinge. There was little wind again so we ended up motor sailing. However, about halfway across to St Peter Port the wind picked up and we were able to sail arriving in St Peter Port at four.

We stayed outside on the pontoons for two nights as we wanted to leave when there would not be enough water over the marina sill. Although the marina was quiet there were some interesting boats arriving such as the MTB above in preparation for the Liberation Day celebrations on 9th May.

We took advantage of a day in Guernsey to stock up on food and fuel and did some laundry.
